Music Theory & Musicianship Lessons
Service Description
Beginners will master fundamentals such as note-reading, keys, time-signature, rhythms, intervals, scales, chords, and harmonic progressions. Intermediate to Advanced students will build on these skills and learn part-writing and score analysis (both tonal and atonal). You will also learn how to read a vocal line by sight (without the aide of a piano), tap out rhythms, identify harmonic and melodic intervals, hear the difference between various chords in a harmonic progression, and transcribe music. Private lessons are an excellent compliment to music theory classes taught in schools, especially for any student who needs outside tutoring. Additionally, Natalie can help students learn the art of music notation, whether by hand or with Finale. Natalie is a composer with a Master of Music in Music Theory and Composition from New York University. Levels Taught: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Prices: $25/half-hour lesson $50/hour lesson
